WEEK 6- Research your own play

Hamlet What is the play about? When was it first performed? Find a contemporary production of the play you can get an idea of and research it in terms of concept, style, design, casting. Give some attention to your own character and their role in the play. Hamlet is about a young prince who is struggling to come to terms with his fathers death. He quickly learns that is father was murdered and sets out to revenge the killer. There is heartbreak, pain, depression, angst and fire in this play.  Hamlet stems from a danish history which is recorded the ancient legend of Amleth, Prince of Denmark, Shakespeare sets Hamlet in the mid to late 1500's after the protestant Reformation of 1517. Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, was studying at the protestant university of Wittenberg, the university of the reformer Martin Luther.
